One
day, after having sent all flyers of a concert of mine, a person, to
whom I feel a lot of affection told me: "Thanks for making the world a
beautiful place!"
Then suddendly I thought: " The world?..a beautiful place?...YES!!! It has to be so. Music makes the world a beautiful place!"
I
think these were the best words that were ever referred to me...not the
degrees, not the success of a concert, not the money...all is about
making the world a beautiful place, a better place for listeners, for
children, for young and old people, relief for adults that escape the
bills...
The point is that musicians, real musicians, when they play, they want a change in their public.
We want to move something in their hearts and heads.
Real
success happens when, before going back home, they tell me: " Thanks, I
had a boring day, but after this nice evening, I changed my point of
view..."
In the same way, failure is not when they dislike you. Failure is when they haven't changed their point of view.
There
is a common belief that musicians are very sensible...and it's true in
some way, because we are able to see the small changes in somebody
else's temper. We are very good at reading through people, but this
doesn't mean that we are weaker than other people.
In fact, professional musicians are those who were able to learn how to endure stress, deception, fatigue. In other words, classical musicians got a strong psychological education.
