Psychological balance and classical music life-style

I think that the toughest part of being a classical musician is not facing people who have serious difficulties in understanding what your job is, but to create a strong balance between art, personal life, training routine and mental health.
Unfortunately our society did the best to make us to believe that we are to be like robots or machines, practicing and playing living aside our state of mind, no matter what is happening to us.
Well, if this is difficult for workers, it is impossible for musicians. We cope and work with emotions and if our emotions are not healthy, we are not able to express at our best and our health issues will be reflected in our interpreting.
This means that we face more than anybody problems with our working activity if there is a bad time in our personal life, unless sometimes our brain is called to make a major effort to isolate single problems and ignore them  by working much much more. This could be a surviving strategy, but it will have a very expensive cost either in the short or the long term.
My advice is that, whatever problem is afflicting you, try to adopt the strategy you prefer, but later, don't ignore it. Solve it for as much as painful it could be.
A musician is called to express a mysterious force that many people don't understand but this does not mean that we have to stand people who make us suffer. We have the special duty of being surrounded by people who love us and believe in our art.
Do not pretend to be a superman or superwoman who try to create the best art in the worst emotional misery. This is simply not helpful for you, and the rest of people.
If you want a beautiful and happy career you will have to take care first of your personal balance and only then of your artistic life.
Finally when you know you found this desired balance, grab it as you had a most valuable treasure!
Artists are a bit nomads of the heart, let it wonder and wander!
