Quote of the day

"Vorrei che tutti leggessero, non per diventare letterati o poeti, ma perchè nessuno sia più schiavo" - Gianni Rodari- Italian Poet

How is that you end up being a classical musician?

How is that you end up being a classical musician?

This is a common question that has been referred to me hundred of times...and I am always surprised when people ask for it. Ending up being a classical musician is perfectly normal to a classical musician's eyes.
You become caught by music in early age of course...maybe you remember the first sound that made you fall in love with music...but then is kind of being normal to grow up as a classical musician.
Falling in love with music: this is the point.

Why is it so normal to suffer, to rehearse long hours across all life, spending your teen-age periode playing?
I think it's down to the emotions our brain is feeling when responding to music. For musicians to play is like getting the drug you badly want for you. This is why it is so hard to stop every 20/30 minutes no to get injured when you are playing. It's like when you go to the cinema to watch your favourite film. You never want it to stop. When the film is ending you feel like someone has dumped you. So music for musicians.
